3D has always been both spectacular and entertaining. Now the third dimension is visible even without glasses. This latest development in visualisation technology is called alioscopy. It produces 3D animations (on special screens) in which the objects seem to be popping out at the viewer – who doesn´t even need special glasses to enjoy this (auto-stereoscopic) effect!
We have now extended our range of products and services to offer the creation of multidimensional films to our clients in medicine and technology. With 25 years of experience in the editing and appropriate visualisation of complex scientific content, we are certain that this highly innovative tool will let us create highly fascinating and persuasive content for you.
The technology can be used either to create films, or to convert existing 3D sequences. The key to this is a software application that simulates the viewing of a scene from a total of 8 cameras in the development of 3D animations (see illustration). This creates a real sensation of depth, even when viewed from an angle. At an ideal viewing distance of about 3.3 m, the viewing angle for 42 or 47’’ displays is spread over 100°. An array of micro-lenses on the display replaces the 3D glasses that are generally required to view a multidimensional image. These lenses change neither colour nor brightness, nor do they affect the contrast or sharpness of an image; even when the viewer moves, the image is not distorted.
Experts think that this innovation will be equally important as the move from silent to sound film. One thing is already clear: whether it is used in product advertising, training courses, the presentation of studies, for image enhancement or simply for entertainment, this presentation technology is unrivalled when it comes to impressive clarity and fascination.
